Lovely place in a quite remote location. We passed here after visiting the lighthouse. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This was the only lunch place in Estonia where they actually seemed happy we visited. Food is pretty basic. Potato, meat, and salad. Kids had french fries and sausage. We didn't order starters but the kind young waitress offered us some egg-and-onion pies during the wait. We didn't ask their price but when the bill came we were pleasantly surprised that they didn't try to fool us and actually charged quite little for those. The building and yard are interesting. Be sure to visit the bathroom during your stay, it's a sight in itself.

The place found completely by chance - it's a simple restaurant in a great historic building which luckily preserved most of its character. We recommend more for this nice ambience than food which is ok, but nothing special.

We drove to Paldiski to see what it was like. It's grim. Typical Soviet blocks of flats everywhere in various states of tastiness. It was late in the day and we wanted a snack and drink. We rejected a couple of cafes in the Soviet blocks as too grim. We drove down to the docks for interest sake and noted a tavern marked on Google maps. We decided to drive past with no great hopes. However, it wasn't in a Soviet block, it was an old building of stone and timber. No blaring signs, just a carved wooden sign. Everything looked in good condition. So we stopped and went in. It was immediately inviting. Historic layout and Deco. A lady greeted us and no, we were not too late for a meal. The owners are Russian as is most things in the town. But there is a clear distinction between Soviets and Russians. The owners had put a lot of effort, and no doubt money, onto converting an old rundown customs house into a very nice restaurant/pub. The menu was allegedly typical Russian fare. What we had was very good and tasty. The desserts were very nice. An oasis of loveliness in a sea of grim drab.

Feels like home. Very delicious simple food. We had bors vegetable soup and pancakes. Owner talked about the old sword collection.

The food was very good, service was quick and friendly - I would definitely recommend this place! I had the cabbage roll as a starter, chicken Kiev as the main course, and the black forest cake with a coffee as dessert - everything was delicious! There is a museum attached to the restaurant.

We were just passing by with friends and were looking for a place to have something to eat. This place was over our expectations. They offer quite simple dishes, but feel very homemade and tasty. Although the dumplings were nothing special, the dessert "Eesti soo" ("Estonian bog") was very suprising! Such a cool idea, to combine these very estonian flavours in that way. Looked very neat and was very tasty as well. I liked their homemade lemonade as well. As a bonus, the staff was super friendly and the prices were reasonable as well.
